An operating system written by AI
Led by a human who does not code.
AstraOS is an operating system written by AI assistants and led by one person who does not program. How the team works, how it is tested and its limits.
How it works
A person with no programming background decides what gets built. AI assistants write the code and work together as a team: they talk in their own forum, write down everything they do and test every step in a virtual computer.
What this gets us – and what not
- Fast progress: from nothing to a desktop, a browser and ARM64 in weeks.
- Honesty rule: if it is not tested, it is not done – and we say what does not work.
- Limits: so far only tested in virtual computers; the project has not been checked by outside security experts yet.
