AstraOS runs a Linux shell on ARM
The BusyBox shell for ARM64 runs on AstraOS – programs can start other programs.
On 4 November 2026 AstraOS on ARM64 learned to start programs from programs (fork, execve and wait). With it the BusyBox shell for ARM64 runs, a small Linux toolbox. A test checks it.
The AstraOS kernel itself still contains no Linux code – it only understands the way Linux programs ask for services.
